Stop Lamp & License Plate Light

Post by Franklyn » Sat Apr 30th, 2011 6:20

Proud to say that after over two years of owning the 49, I finally got around to rebuilding the Center Stop Light and License Plate light, and rewired from the terminal block back.

Now my brake and license plate lights are nearly as bright as my headlights, more importantly They are WORKING :)

I feel a lot safer ( and more legal) driving her now!!

Good work. Did you know, you could also wire your left and right tail lights along with the center light and have 3 brake lights?
I did this on my '49 and just like you, I feel much safer. I don't mind giving up a little authenticity for safety. Keep up the good work

Yes dsweidman,
I plan to connect the two outside lights to function as brake lights also, to have a standard three light brake light system.
It will feel even safer:)

As far as turn signals, to keep it simple, I think I will just be adding a second bulb altogether in each taillight housing.

will be great to have her functioning with turns, tails AND brake ights soon!
