MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION

Post by HOTROD_KING_1 » Sun Dec 19th, 2010 12:43

I have a flat 6 (218ci) and a three speed transmission I just pulled out of my 49 four door coupe an I want to find a good home for it. So make me an offer and I can e-mail photos if you would like. This is a complete motor with generator, fan, oil bath filter, starter, motor mount, everything. And everything except the linkage on the transmission. I also have the driveshaft and rear-end.

OK, so far I have had 37 views of this and not one person has asked anything. Whats the deal, is this stuff a dime a dozen or does no one what it? just curious

Hello!

I am looking for the Intake & Exhaust manifold assembly for my 49 P-18 Special Deluxe.

Could you tell me if it is available and how much it would cost?

Thanks!

Cory

Morning .... your posting is appreciated for sure AND these engines are not a dime a dozen BUT they are a real pain to move and do require a considerable investment just to pick them up with gas at $3.50. Then they cost quite a bit to rebuild completely ... on the order of $2000 plus or minus once you get them. So, what I've found is that it's always better to pick them up if they are really close AND if you have a place to set them for some time. And those two combination of characteristics often don't match up. Parting them out is a pain because you just get rid of the the "good" pieces and end up with the carcass a lot longer than you want. Generally the head, crank, rods, carb, starter, oil filter, air cleaner, linkage, intake, exhaust and generator are quite desirable. Where are you located?

How much are you asking for the set?
You can call me 713-628-7511 I am out of Houston and have family in Jefferson so Tyler isn't that far out of the way.
Thanks, Kelly

Well as I've said in some previous post, I'm trying to get rid of the motor transmission together. I don't really know what to ask, I've been offered $100 but I feel that its worth more than that since they are complete. Make an offer and we'll see.
