Adjusting shifter linkage.

Post by Terra1936 » Mon May 31st, 2010 10:55

Thanks for the bushing information. I also found the service info on "Adjusting the linkage" But...........it says to adjust if you cannot get into 2nd and 3rd or rev and 1st. I am having problems getting into reverse. It happens sometimes. I am missing the bushing one the control arm and will order after the holiday. Is adjusting the linkage difficult. Three on the tree has always been fussy to me on all of my cars and seems to be a mystery to others as well. Any real world experience with adjustments?

Just an update. I downloaded the shifter linkage info from the doenload section. Adjusted the nut described one full rotation and walla! Back on the road! Thanks to the info posted!
