Aftermarket air conditioning

Post by canoehenge » Wed Aug 2nd, 2006 11:05

Can anyone steer me to the right brackets to use for the ac compressor? 49 P18 with 6 cylinder. I realize that brackets will depend on the brand and type of compressor, however, none of the aftermarket a/c sites I checked with have been able to give me a definitive answer.

Air Conditioning Brackets

Post by Johnny_S » Thu Aug 17th, 2006 6:31

I haven't seen any brackets that have been made commercially for the flathead to be used with air conditioning. I suspect this will have to be a one off project. I suggest getting the compressor you want, forming a template bracket or brackets out of bendable aluminum or tin and then having someone make "real" ones out of steel or stainless or ??
