Rear View Mirrors ??

Post by Dick B » Wed Aug 19th, 2009 7:21

By the looks of the pictures in your spotters guide the rear view mirrors were not available on the outside if the car. The little inside mirror combined with the small rear window makes it kinda hard for us old farts to see. I bought a couple will fit on ebay that was to fit on the door sill. Waste of $35. Does anyone know what wilol wirk w/o drilling holes in AnnaBell ?
Thanks for now, thingy & Cathy :?:

There are accessory rear view mirrors that attached to the rain drip rail .... they work pretty good. And, there were accessory door mounted rearview mirrors available as well.

the type that will usually work on most door frames will clamp on. I had a spare set but let them go with a 36 ply. I sold. you can try night prowlers for them or most hot rod shops including speedway motors. hope this helps. Brian

If you are looking for hard to find vintage stuff, there are some very cool ones out there by a company called Joma. My Plymouth had one with the build in thermometer.

Here's a current eBay auction for a set of two .... not fancy like Paul's shown above but they would likely work well.

I just added a set of 55-57 chevy mirrors without the bowtie logo. Picked them up on e bay for $39.00
I wanted to keep the curves of the era and did not care for the square mirrors. I had the clamp on type and they ALWAYS need adjustment. This is on my 49 4 door.
