Carburetor replacement

Just wondering if anyone out there has replaced their Carter B&B single barrel with a Stromberg 97 on the old plymouth flathead 6 cyl? How did that work out for you? The carbs and manifold to carb adaptors are readily available.

Re: wiper motor bushings

Thanks for the response. Let's hope somebody will come up with a solution. Bernbaum does not list any on his web site. I will keep looking.

Re: wiper motor bushings

Thanks for the info. Actually the bushings I am referring to are the wiper motor rocker arm to linkage attachment points. They were originally some kind of grommet, but acted as a bushing. Perhaps a small rubber grommet may suffice.

Fuel Gauge calibration

I recently bought a universal sending unit from JC Whitney for Chrysler (10-78 Ohms). The gauge reads 1/8 to 7/8 from empty to full. I am guessing that the Ford sending unit which is 0-90 Ohms would give me a full scale reading. Can anyone confirm this before I order another sending unit?

Pickup tube stoppage using Por-15

Used Por-15 to seal tank. Well, it also sealed the filter assembly at the end of the pickup tube. Anyone have ideas on how to get this thing unstopped? I can run a coat hanger wire all the way in, but am hitting something solid. High pressure air will not blow through the obstruction. That Por-15 co...

'49 Special Deluxe

Well, I am just amazed at the level of resources out there for those of us trying to restore our first "old car". I just bought mine from a neighbor for $500. It has been garage kept since 1957 so there is very little cancer to contend with. Odometer shows 57,000 miles. The previous owner removed th...
