Re: broke head bolts

Time to remove motor and take to a machine shop for advice unless you are really experieced. Then your questions can be answered by very knowledgable persons.
My 2 cents!

Re: Anyone have a gas Tank

Not sure it would work .... its out of a Club Coupe and not a business coupe SO .... I'm not sure its the same. I don't have my cross-reference book with me at the moment. Cost is negotiable ... prefer not to have to ship it though. John My Ply. parts books shows all models use the same tank EXcept...

Re: Our new (old) baby

Wow, looking good. My car did the same with the brakes. Water accumulates in the brake cylinders. There are a few companies making brand new parts for the brakes, best to just do them its easy. Where is the brake switch? I have to replace mine, Haven't seen it yet. On a 50 it's inside the frame jus...

I think you are correct ... I have seen some similar parts ... the images even look the same. But I haven't seen Dave out there at all. Seems that dave IS on ebay again as: krusn64 40's and 50's rubber parts. :D I had searched him by a diff. ebay name before, i guess i misspelled, Try again ...

Re: Residual pressure valve? (wilwood 260-3279)

I'm rebuilding my brakes from top to bottom, and from what I can tell the master cylinder on our '49s doesn't leave a little pressure in the line. More modern cars with rear drums have a little pressure to keep the shoes nice and close to the drums. Checking out wilwood's page http://wilwood.com/Ma...

Re: Dual Chamber Fuel Pump Plumbing of Vac for Wipers

Repair manuel says--- 9" vacuum from vac. side of fuel pump-engine running. Perhaps your wiper motor is weak of just needing lubed, i can't find right now what type oil to add to the vac. line to to motor to lube it, but i know that it's lightweight. #-o Perhaps some with a better memory or library ...

Re: Dual Chamber Fuel Pump Heat Shield Photos

I've got one .... would need to be rebuilt. They come up occasionally on eBay. Run about $50 plus shipping plus rebuild .... which is about $125 more at last check some time ago. I'd send you one for $25 plus shipping. Price is reasonable considering i paid about 50-60 each + shipping on ebay and n...

I don't think so Dave Kruse does seem to be off ebay at this time( kruzin64). if i remember right. Seems that other ebay sellers now carry some of items though. PERHAPS, since he does have another full time business making other parts for industrial, he's decided that his time is better spent on HI...

Re: Dying

Repair manuel on fuel pumps:
4-5 1/2 lbs. at carb- pressure
5-6 oz. fuel, line disconnected at carb into catch can with 15 fuel pump strokes= 30 rotations of motor (cam turns at 1/2 speed of crank). Fuel volume.

Fairly easy to test.

On a 50 sedan the lic. plate light is on the trunk. tap into that for tailight connection on a dual connect type bulb socket for taillight connect and tap in the brake switch wire coming FROM it for the brake light that is powered anytime it is on with brake pressure. Easy to Id it as there are only...
